Moulded Fibre Trays

Moulded fibre — pulp pressed into a die — is rigid by shape rather than by rim, which makes it excellent for hot food and gives it the matt fibrous look that reads as considered rather than cheap.

Untreated, it is essentially a sponge. Hot oil and moisture go straight into it, and a tray of chips will soften a bare pulp tray in minutes. So the barrier treatment is the whole specification, and it is the thing quoted vaguely most often in this category.
